These terms govern your use of Split Bill. By using the app, you agree to use it responsibly and only for lawful, genuine bill-sharing activity.
1. What Split Bill does
Split Bill helps users scan receipts, assign line items, calculate totals, save payment methods, and communicate payment status. The app does not act as a bank, payment processor, or escrow service.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the information attached to your account and for keeping your sign-in methods secure. You must not impersonate someone else or use the service in a way that harms other users.
3. Shared bill content
You are responsible for the receipts, participant details, payment handles, and other content you submit. Please make sure the information you share is accurate and that you have the right to share it with the people included in the bill.
4. Payment responsibility
Participants are responsible for sending and receiving money directly with one another. Split Bill is not liable for failed transfers, late payments, disputed amounts, or any issue caused by third-party payment platforms.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not upload content you do not have the right to use.
- Do not use the service to harass, defraud, or mislead others.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the service, bypass security, or misuse automated features.
6. Availability and updates
We may update, improve, or remove parts of the service over time. We work to keep the app available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access when the service is misused, when fraud or abuse is suspected, or when continued access creates risk for users or the platform.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Split Bill is provided on an βas isβ basis. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses that arise from use of the app, receipt extraction mistakes, or disputes between participants.
